We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to serve as Volunteer Workshop Mentors for our mobile workshop programs. As a mentor, your primary role is to engage with youth, fostering positive relationships, and being a consistent presence. While prior experience with tools or building is not required, you will work alongside the youth on projects, learning and growing together in a collaborative environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Youth Engagement: Build rapport with youth, encouraging their participation and confidence during workshops.

• Project Collaboration: Work side-by-side with students on hands-on building projects, offering guidance and support as needed.

• Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, listening to and encouraging youth to overcome challenges.

• Teamwork: Collaborate with other mentors, facilitators, and staff to ensure workshops run smoothly.

• Encourage Growth: Inspire curiosity, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment in students as they complete projects.

• Support Safety: Help monitor the work environment to ensure students are following safety guidelines.

• Adaptability: Be flexible and responsive to the needs of the youth and the flow of the workshop.

Commitment

• One day per week for the duration of the school year.

• Workshop sessions typically last 2–4 hours, with additional setup and cleanup time.

• Willingness to complete a background check.
