Volunteer Trailer Driver
We are seeking 1 -2 dedicated volunteers to serve as drivers for our mobile workshop. As a Trailer Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of our truck and trailer to program sites. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy driving, have experience with towing trailers.
Responsibilities

Transportation: Drive the truck and trailer to designated program locations and return them at the end of the day.

Trailer Safety: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, ensuring the trailer is properly hitched, loads are secure, brakes are working, and lights are functioning.

Punctuality: Arrive on time to support program schedules and maintain consistency for weekly commitments.

Collaboration: Work closely with program staff to coordinate setup, parking, and logistics at each site.

Equipment Maintenance: Assist with keeping the truck and trailer clean and in good working condition.

Problem-Solving: Address minor issues, such as traffic challenges or vehicle troubleshooting, with a calm and solution-oriented approach.
Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Pass a DOT physical and maintain valid certification (Legacy 2 Inspire will pay fees)

Experience towing and backing trailers with a combined truck/trailer length of 60 feet+.

Familiarity with basic trailer safety procedures, including hitching, backing up, and load security.

Ability to commit to at least one day per week for the duration of the school year.

Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently.
